So, I had a speculative booking on ticketed for May, but we won't be able to travel for the foreseeable future after March or so. Does the Balkans make sense in March? I've been looking at the weather and it seems like it may be quite cold that time of year. We do like the idea of avoiding crowds, but the idea of driving around in poor conditions sounds unsafe and being outside for a lot of cold and rainy days sounds dreary.
I would personally visit tourist heavy places like Dubrovnik and Split in March rather than in the summer when you can't really enjoy the sights because of the crowds.
The flight ticket will also be a lot cheaper in March than in the summer, if that matters to you.
