Hi all,

I’ll be taking SFO-NRT on JAL J in a couple of months, which is scheduled to arrive at 16:45. I’m looking for good options to get to CTS on a separate itinerary. There is a GK NRT-CTS departing at 18:05 (last flight out from NRT). Would JAL check my bags through to CTS, and what’s the process like (bags, customs, security) for transferring? I read that transfers with arrival from US don’t have to go through security again at NRT, but not sure if this only if the second flight is also intl. Or maybe I should stay the night in Tokyo and fly out the next day (worried about having to transport luggage, though)? Thanks!
