After reading the recent discussions, above, re: SUA to the "wrong" suite, I was especially wary when applying my SUA to an upcoming stay in Feb 2024. I had booked the base room at 5,000 points/night. I then called WOH line in Asia (China) and had my SUA applied to the booking. The "real" suite indicated on the website has a floor area of 45 sq.m. The 1 bedroom suite I was confirmed into (per my confirmation email after SUA applied) indicated a room size of 36 sq.m. Obviously not the same room. WOH line was not very helpful in sorting out this discrepancy. I ended up emailing the hotel directly to ask them to confirm. For avoidance of doubt, I even attached a picture of the "right" suite to my email, and asked the hotel to confirm back in writing. They did so within two days of my email, and they have confirmed that my suite upgrade will be to the "right" 1 bedroom suite.
