"Not surprising" that everyone is safe is probably the wrong way to phrase it, since I am sure even with rigorous training evacuating a full aircraft on fire must still have been incredibly stressful and terrifying, but I think many of us here know well the professionalism of JL crew and how seriously JL as an airline takes safety. I am very glad to see that all passengers and crew made it out okay.
One of the passengers told NHK that people from the middle of the plane were rushing to the front once they realized there was a fire, but the CAs immediately took charge and told everyone to calm down and get back in their seats, despite the plane being literally surrounded by flames at that point. Yes, the crew should get some medals in the wake of this.
