Per the other posts, there
isn't two "9C" seats. It's just a glitch that the app/website shows the layout incorrectly.
Since you are in Club Europe, the only seats in use in that row will be 9C and 9D, across the aisle from each other. The B and E seats are not used in Club Europe [1], and on that aircraft there is no 9A or 9F due to the emergency exits.
Whether it's worth paying for those seats is up to you, generally speaking BA does well at keeping people on the same booking together, but it's not always possible. If you can share the flight details, people can look up the exact seat map to see what is still available - that may be different from what BA are offering you.
