I disagree. Was at MSY back in October and the PreCheck line was 15+ minutes long, whereas the priority line was less than 5 minutes. Having to remove my shoes and laptop was a small price to pay to get through the checkpoint much more quickly. I generally do not travel with liquids other than single-serve packs of toothpaste, which I did not remove from my bag and nobody said anything. They did give me the PreCheck Lite treatment so it was probably overlooked.

At DCA and JFK my preferred airports, my experiences over the years have been markedly different from yours. I am in favour of waiting in queue extra 15 mins as long as I do not have to take off shoes and belt and laptops etc. Not even a contest for me...
