Seriously, I've always resented the schedule that UA has to/from SIN.....ditto for BKK.....
I guess at those hours the "better" rooms have all been taken, and in the event the hotel does not pre-block rooms for Diamonds, the situation could very well have been that simply no rooms were available (giving them the benefit of the doubt). Although I must say that in the past I have also been victim of non-upgrade and had to pretty much "argue" to get the Diamond benefits......
