I had issues for days trying to book redemptions. It would move my Avios from BA then when payment was attempted it would fail. Eventually I used live chat on the app and explained the situation. The agent then created the bookings and put them on hold and sent me the booking number. Then went to online via manage my booking and allowed me to pay the fees. It did take a while but got there eventually.
