Your FT profile doesn't list where you are from, but BA flies to more places in the US, which could mean an easier trip overall. I'd much rather fly BA from AUS than deal with AA through DFW or another other hub.
Except for the LHR transfer on BA, which I'd not recommend at all if there are other viable options.
