It is in the Penalties section of the fare rules which you can find linked on the final page before payment on aa.com. They are also available on ExpertFlyer if you have an account there. Fully refundable fares with no fees will say "CANCELLATIONS PERMITTED FOR CANCEL/NO-SHOW/REFUND" in the Penalties section as below. Non-refundable fares will say "CANCELLATIONS ANY TIME TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE IN CASE OF CANCEL/NO-SHOW/ REFUND". Fares that can be refunded for a fee will say "CANCELLATIONS BEFORE DEPARTURE CHARGE USD XXX.00/CAD XXX.00 FOR CANCEL/NO-SHOW/ REFUND. " The only fares that AA currently markets as "Refundable" for ex-US fares are the first type which can be fully refunded with no fees. These will have a 9 in the last letter of the fare basis code.
