I think you misunderstand what no-show penalties are for. These are not *additional* charges applied beyond what you have paid for the ticket.
As other replies above have indicated, no-show charges are applied as penalties on refundable tickets, and subtracted from the refund due if you do not cancel/change in advance of the flight departure.
British Airways does effectively have a no-show fee, which is typically far more punitive than what Korean is charging. BA simply adds the below term (or equivalent) in most of its refundable fares, effectively making the no-show fee equal to the full value of your refundable ticket, rendering even a refundable ticket non-refundable if you fail to cancel it before departure.
”NO-SHOWS FOR A FLIGHT ARE CONSIDERED A CANCELLATION AFTER DEPARTURE AND CHANGES ARE NOT PERMITTED.”
Many other airlines allow refunds after departures even if you fail to cancel before departure, subject to a chunky no-show fee which is what you are seeing with Korean.
