I fly *A and that is how I ended up on them. I agree if nothing goes wrong they are fine. No different than the other carriers. It was IRROPS and my own changes that caused me to look closer at them.
THAI, like many asian carriers, can be quite rigid with fare rules and booking classes.

For example - even as a THAI ROP Gold (*G), if I buy a cheap Y fare class, I am only able to select seats in the rear 1/2 of the economy cabin. I cannot even pay for the ‘preferred seats’ (exit/bulkhead) in the forward economy cabin, only can purchase those in the rear cabin.

And yes, some of TG’s IT systems are a bit annoying - but most carriers have indiosyncracies we’d like fixed.
