There predictably was no mention of it at KLIA immigration last night, but when I checked in with KLM in Europe, the check-in agent typed in TIMATIC and asked to see the "Malaysia online travel authorization" for a travel companion with a passport from a smaller Eastern European country.

Immigration agent asked about intended length of stay -- if they had put any thought into designing the MDAC form, this question could have been included.

Out of curiosity, I logged into the "CHECK VISIT PASS" section on the MDAC website and to my extreme surprise, my entry is showing with the exact processing time and my "social visit pass" is displayed with an expiry date that matches the stamp in my passport.
