Did you already try to end the return in Spain? Usually it saves around 100/200 euros. Also, try TUS or PHX as final destination after LAX. Or try PSP with a route like DUB-LHR-NYC-PHX-PSP(no flagship transcon though) and reverse ending in BCN.
