Can EVA website be trusted when it says flights "available" but "unconfirmed"?

I want to purchase two award tix on EVA via its website and will need to transfer the miles in from Citi. Right now, when I enter my i.d. and my companion and click through to the flights I want, the website is saying they are "available but unconfirmed" since I don't have sufficient miles in my EVA account to purchase them yet. Before I make the irrevocable decision to transfer the miles and wait the two days for them to show up in my account, I'd like to know whether I can trust that the award flights are at least still available at the moment; I know someone might grab them while the miles are transferring. Does anyone know whether the website can be trusted that the award tix are at least still "available" at this time? Is there any way to confirm this, perhaps by trying to call EVA and ask them before I transfer the miles to my EVA account?
