Perhaps it was the fact that we traveled with our two young children (youngest was in preschool) that we felt the staff was very attentive to us. Much time was spent pouring over their activity guides leading to 5 days spent there with our guide (same one each day) exploring Angkor Wat, Banteay Srei (our favorite temple) and many others. We enjoyed non-temple activities such has learning to make rice noodles at Khmer Village house, private Tonle Sap river cruise, and they arranged a spiritual water blessing at a local Buddhist temple. Our guide was able to converse easily in English and we felt comfortable with him when traveling to various sites. The Amanara boutique was filled with high quality local pieces and I ended purchasing far more there than I did at Amanpuri's sterile boutique. We found the dining provided us with many options over the 5 days. We were never without snacks on our travels or cold lemongrass scented towels when disembarking from our tuk-tuks. Interestingly, there are no connecting rooms or suites that create a truly separate bedroom space when traveling with children. They were able to put 2 twin rollaway beds against a side wall which did not meaningfully detract from room design/space. I cannot speak to the other options in Siem Riep but overall was very happy with our time there. I do hope to return in years to come.
thank you for the detailed response. We are doing Indochina past and present and staying at Sara for three nights in October. It is a great package with three experiences included and we are looking forward to it!

I think Amanoi will set the stage. The views from the ocean pool villas are just awe-inspiring. We are staying at the Jena, ,Taka and Sara in 2024 and I am afraid we might not get that wow feeling we had at Amanoi.
