Yeah it's weird - for some strange reason the BA website can't find some of the AA Transcon flights - I ended up booking on AA for an August run from Dublin I did this year.
You will also find that AA sometimes applies some clever married segment availability on the TransCons when booked in conjunction with an AA coded TransAtlantic flight, which means an itinerary will be available on AA at £x but if booked with BA will be £x + y.
