Back to report my follow up: The ones from 2 days back (2032 exp) that error-ed, worked today with 3 split tender. SO when i tried again for another set of 3, first went thru (which is a 2031 exp), then second failed (2032). The ones that failed doesn't have any transaction history. The ones that worked (which failed 2 days back) have history of charge and refund.

Looks like all the new cards with 2032 exp are having higher security measure and causing pain for full/close to full drain.
