I've been a Globalist for a few years due to assorted pandemic deals, and am dropping to Explorist next year. The upcoming changes to Guest of Honor awards appear to give those in my situation another year of Globalist benefits using GoH. Since my status doesn't drop until March 1, 2024 is the following correct?

On January 1, 2024 I will receive 5 Guest of Honor awards.
If I use those five awards, I can then make unlimited (old style) GoH bookings during the rest of 2024.

That seems too good to be true, so I want to check with the Flyer Talk briantrust.

Is there any reason to make some GoH bookings for 2024 before the New Year?
