Short review on opening week

Stayed a night.
Checked in at 10am. Small talk about demanding guests on opening night demanding room upgrades while occupancy was not that full too.
rooms not ready so went to Orchard for lunch and shopping. In room at noon.
Connecting rooms so one twin with a work table and bathtub.
Other king was with shower and mini dining table.
Automated curtains. Day and blackout option.
No more plastic bottles so refilling water is from the 3m filtered taps.
As gold, only recognition was at check in but no lounge or upgrade. Just the usual free breakfast.
Room next door was with pets so whomever slept there didn't sleep well as the canine was barking the night away.
Pool was not ready on the first night. So after breakfast made it a point to swim. The swimming pool has 2 depths. 1m for children and 2.1m for those who want to dive deep inside.
POOL has connecting showers/toilets so you can dress up downstairs rather than be a soaking mess until you get to the room.
Breakfast was ok. Their staff are generally new or transfers being taught from the other Conrad in Town. Strength wise the pastries, pork stuff (Canadian Bacon carving, ham etc), beef noodles are the highlights.
Caused a small ruckus when the mangosteens served were rotten and all mangosteens were removed..
A mixture of international, local (Chinese, Malay , Indian food)
Comparison with the other Conrad. The other one wins hands down for it's ice cream and variety. There was a breakfast queue formed at 9am. If I am not wrong breakfast starts at 730am.

I am not in the know but what I felt was generally a WIP hotel. Communication was very minimal with no physical in room dining information or information sheets. Even I was wondering whether to attack the local chocolates in the drawers...even the staff initially gave me one room when I had 2 booked.
the executive lounge is at the 11th floor but my guess is that it is not operational yet.
Seen other travel bloggers taking pictures, of the hotel.
In summary, could be better but there are better choices for the price and locations. Won't consider this in the future, even though it's the closest Hilton to home.
