The reduced taxes returning from Poland would likely pay all or most the EDI-WAW one way fare on KLM.
You'd have to see if adding it as a leg to the trans-atlantic ticket or buying it separately as a standalone ticket would be cheaper.
Taxes are definitely higher from EDI due to UK APD, but the DL base fare is lower compared to WAW, so it mostly evens out in the end. Airlines are not oblivious to tax impact from certain origins and this factors into their base fares.
