About a month ago, the AC website was showing 2 J seats from TPE-HAN in J same day, roughly same time. I called as I could not change online and was told the seats were not available, even though I could clearly see them on the website. Ok. Was told EVA would be removing them. The same flight with 2 seats in J has been showing online still for over a month.

I decide recently that I would like to change the current TPE-SGN to an earlier flight. I look today, there are 2 J seats on that route, same day, a couple hours earlier. I am finally on the phone with AE and am told the same thing for this flight. They are unable to be booked. WHY are these EVA flights showing on the AC website?

While I'd like to fly out of SFO, I'd reposition anywhere in the US for a J on the A380, but it's so inconsistent now I'm almost tempted to just transfer points to Etihad and take their A380 out of JFK. They've got consistent availability.
