Our usual plan is to fly overnight in business and return in economy (comfort +) due to status when we want to save miles
3 things
As we get older I find it easier to function after some rest overnight - so D1 is preferable outbound to hit the ground running
By returning in economy + the YQ is much less especially from UK
Cost in miles is less with part of the trip in economy or premium select
- and return in daytime AND comng home to sleep off the jet lag is better than losing precious days of holiday trying to recover from the overnight flight

I did a recent trip to UK in PS from JFK - a short flight TATL - and was able to function afterwards the first day, but D1 is much better even with a short flight

I didn't fly a lot for business or travel will working, I was a road (overnight car) salesman and last thing I wanted to do was stay in a hotel on vacation, God love my wife.
Is this historically in line with pricing before the pandemic? Has first class always been this more expensive?
Thanks. Brian
