I can see your point but I still prefer the upgrades. I don't do that much TATL but its nice for a few trips a year to the USA or BGI and is worth a lot more compared to what you would pay for seat assignments over the year. Maybe if they offered a choice but that would be messy for EI to put in place . If it wasn't for the upgrades Concierge would be unattractive to me and Id just maintain Platinum.
