Zaragoza questions and advice

In late January, I will be taking the train from Barcelona to Madrid. Have not purchased tickets yet.
Was thinking of taking a few hour break and seeing Zaragoza. A few questions for anyone familiar with it.
1. Is it worth stopping and spending 3-4 hours there? If so, what can't miss things?
2. It looks like public transport to the old city center takes time, so is Uber/taxi available and easy?
3. Is there a left luggage at the Zaragoza train station? Getting mixed information on this.
4. How do I do a stop over on the train? I am assuming either two tickets or a flexible ticket? Not sure I would want to be boxed into a specific time. And can I get a last minute seat reservation on the Zaragoza-Madrid leg?

Any other advice would be appreciated.
