It's not clear to whom you're addressing this.
That said, I don't think we've ever seen Air Canada / Aeroplan claim that nobody wanted this kind of search tool.
In fact, their whole case is based on the claim that such a system cannot be practically implemented without unacceptable burden on their partner airlines' IT systems.
