The LCC Air Japan service is buy onboard for everything, streaming inflight entertainment and no IFE screens, and no business class seating. Was that what you experienced?
HND-TSA and it had the usual NH flight number except "Operated by Air Japan" on my ticket. All I got is a small paper cup drink and a pack of the usual ANA rice crackers. There used to be a hot meal and one point, even a choice between 2 meals. The plane is normal ANA metal, 788 regional configuration in the usual navy blue color theme. It has the usual Pana IFE, small seat pitch and 9-abreast, which again is typically configured for regional. My coworker took the flight during the week (mine was on a weekend) and my coworker was served with a usual meal and his ticket does not not have "Operated by Air Japan" indication. I don't know if it's because it's on a weekend thing.
Thankfully, I usually get that segment operated by CI, so I am not too worried.
