As to special assistance at airports, yes BA do this and it's usually OK, there can be some delays disembarking at Heathrow. My wife uses it. There is no differentiation based on class of travel though I think you can purchase special special assistance at T3 which is where AA mostly flies to/from.
Well, I want a direct flight and only BA and United do direct flights from Houston to London. From what I can tell, looks like the planes are 2-4-2 or 2-3-2 depending on what flight I take. Do you think the upgrade from biz to first is worth it? It would be about $4500 more for both of us, but the bigger deal is that I would have to be away from home longer and my husband might not like that. (He will be solely responsible for our children while I am gone.) I am thinking the 2-4-2 might not be bad as they have that middle seat that would be good for my Mom and I. I have flown that with my husband and my kids before and it is like having a little 2 person sitting area in the middle. Only annoying part was having to get out to go to the bathroom...which could be a problem for my mother.
