Quite why QR continue to publish slightly odd cabin bag dimensions is a mystery. From my experience provided that it's similar to a "standard" cabin bag size for most other airlines. There are several threads regarding this in the forum already.

What they do randomly concern themselves with is the weight. There's no rhyme or reason when hand carry will be weighed, including for J, but when they do enforce weight limits it tends to catch many passengers out.
