I did that and booked everything in a single reservation. Now I just need to contact G3 and try to get info on through-checking the bags. I hope the single reservation helps that.
On a single PNR the bags should now be checked all the way through (unless there is something specific to Brazil and/or an I>D connection at GIG that prevents that).
