That isn't a conversation I would have at all. I was just commenting on the fact of how the hotel would realize those 2 reservations belonged to the same party.

With regard to my take on back to back bookings, I've already posted several times (including in response to the above situation) that guests cannot and should not expect to get the $100 credit multiple times. The only reason why someone should have a back to back booking is to utilize the $200 FHR/HC credit from the personal Platinum card and you have 2 or more such cards. But again, there should be no expectation of $100 property credit per reservation, it can/should be treated as a single stay, but if by some lucky chance it's not, more power to you.

The only difference in the situation quoted above is that the hotel treated it as 1 reservation with regard to the $100 credit, but did not give the guest any late check out and forced them to change rooms which was completely unacceptable.
