When was the new Shanghai T-Union card released?

Now that I know the new Shanghai transit card will work all over China, can I get my money back from my Beijing, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen cards? I don't know if I have a Guangzhou card, but I didn't see it last night when cleaning my desk. I suspect I probably do have one since I used to travel to GZ all the time.
