I don’t know about size, but when I was flying back KUL-DOH-JFK recently, they weighed my carry on bags and decided my 13kg Rimowa cabin bag was “too heavy” (weight limit for J is 15kg for two carry ons which I never knew because I’ve never had my carry on weighed before!). Just beware that if they want to stick to the rules, they can and there’s no way to argue your way out of it if it’s clearly their policy
They didn’t even weigh my second bag and kept insisting if one bag is 13 kg and the limit is 15kg for two bags, therefore 13 kg for one bag was too heavy. I gave up arguing because I was tired but I couldn’t follow their logic. I did realize that adding my second bag would probably have gone over the 15kg limit anyway.
Had no issues JFK-DOH-KUL.
