Hawaiian Airlines Credit Cards
I haven't seen this discussed yet, so am throwing out the question. We anticipate Alaska acquiring Hawaiian Airlines. It might take a year for this to happen. I've read that once it does, the Hawaiian Airlines credit cards will go away. Hawaiian currently has 2 credit cards, a personal one and a business one, both issued by Barclay. Is this a window of opportunity to get them, expecting miles we earn to subsequently be moved into Alaska Airlines?
I've already gotten the personal card for both my husband and me. It has an annual fee of $99. It requires one purchase to earn 65,000 miles. You need to put in a six digit code, meant to be an employee code, to get the card. Frequent Miler says you can simply put in any six digits. I have a friend who is an FA for Hawaiian, so put in her code. My husband did his single purchase and has his 65K points. I just got my card and will make a purchase today. There's also a business card. This requires $2K spend in 90 days to earn 60K miles plus 10K miles after adding and making one purchase on an employee card, both within 90 days
Should we all be jumping on this within the next few months? Do we have any guesses as to whether Hawaiian miles will transfer into AS 1:1? Alaska doesn't have a lot of ways to earn miles. Neither AMEX Membership Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer in. So I'm hoping this would be an easy way to boost our accounts but it is likely time limited.
