It all depends on what subscription you take, what flights you use it on, and what seats you choose.

For me the math is simple. I'm buying the subscription for myself and my wife, including Central America, so that's $899.
For our flights to/from Costa Rica (nonstops), E+ seats range from $127 for a middle with limited recline to $174 for a window or aisle in an exit row; most are $149.
So likely 174 + 149 x 2 = $646.
That leaves $250 left for the rest of the year; I'm pretty sure that one domestic R/T for the two of us would cover that. We're likely to do more traveling than that, and if so, we'll be ahead of the game. At worst, I imagine it'll be a wash.
I also like the option of being able to upgrade it to global for just $100.
