I stayed last week for the first time. Mixed feelings about the property. Parts were amazing. I stayed in a Lagoon suite and a Beach area suite for different parts of the stay and both rooms spacious. Room plunge pools were nice and toasty. The beach and lagoon pools were probably about 78-82 degrees so did feel a tad chilly at times but not too bad once in them. The ocean temperature was about 80 so about the same. Really enjoyed the ocean pool and its proximity to the beach. Lots of seating and it was never crowded. The development is really well done and the boat tour was fascinating.

The misses were the food and service. Basic requests took several follow ups to get right (bedding requests, restaurant reservations, etc.). I asked the concierge for fishing recommendations and she sent me only one option that had an obvious $300 markup v. what you could book online for the same boat and outfit. Given the eye-watering prices of F&B here, you'd expect it to be good but other than the breakfast buffet (which I thought was good not great) I found the food to be lower quality than mid-level food of the same type in my home town. With so many great food options in PDC, it's a shame they don't get it right here. I did not try Casa Amate so maybe I missed on that one. Sotavento, Tinta del Pulpo and Milagro were all just OK. Next time I go I will explore a food ordering app since I saw some food being delivered to the front desk.
