AirAsia did alert me of this new requirement by sending two idential emails, the first one 3 days before my flight to KUL, the second one 2 days prior to the flight.
Air Asia email reminder about Malaysias new Digital Arrival Card submission requirement.
I submitted my details successfully and a green success message was displayed.
details for MDAC submitted successfully
An e-mail reply arrived very quickly and contained a summary of the information I submitted along with an 8 digit PIN.
In the email reply right underneath the PIN there is a note "
Use PIN to check registration information and visit pass information."
However there is only an error message coming back when entering all details into the "Check Visit Pass" form:
Check Visit Pass not working
When entering all details into the "Check Registration" form, again a summary of the submitted data is shown and there is a link to a pdf file that may be downloaded. The pdf file again contains a summary of the submitted details, but no QR code or anything like a Visit Pass.
Maybe the functionality is not quite ready yet.
At this stage I have already entered Malaysia and can still not pull up anything under "Check Visit Pass".
During immigration via APEC fast-track lane, there was no mention / comment of the MDAC and I did not ask.
