The question really is what happened to Safran, Q Suites are Safran, so are the Polaris seats. They do understand how to churn out nice looking and durable products. Though there has been some indications that ANA's The Room does not respond well to wear and tear.
Safran is a patchwork of acquisitions including different manufacturing plants. IMO a lot of the quality issues stem from legacy problems in regions of Europe where it is quite difficult to fire and replace staff.
