Might be married segment availability, no saver space or just aa.com not working properly. Call AA and see if they can get sa-GIG-usa to price.

Another option is if sa-GIG and GIG-usa are available separately, AA should be able to book both of them in the same PNR with separate tickets. This way, you pay the same as 2 awards but the PNR is sa-usa.
