Booked a mid-level suite for 6 nights in Bangkok, the property has >20 of that room type in inventory. Arrived at 5:10pm to be told the room isn't ready, maybe wait an hour (or more) for it to be cleaned. Hotel is apparently at 98% occupancy and it needs to be cleaned (I understand late checkout can be an operational pain). Wasn't offerred an upgrade/downgrade, not even as an interim room to clean up in given the long travel here, just told to wait in the lounge until the room type I booked is available. Titanium.
At what point can I invoke the Ultimate Reservation Guarantee? Quoted check-in time was 4pm, rooms remains unavailable by 6pm, and it seems there's no committment as to when it'll be ready. Do I have to wait all the way til midnight for the guarantee?
