A bit off topic for this discussion, but a very interesting feedback from a purser a few days ago on a flight to SIN. It seems the summer “madness” of crew’s rosters continues well into winter. The purser mentioned that there is a catastrophic shortage of both cabin and cockpit crew, as many who were let go during COVID are not willing to come back. So, those who currently work, have very intense rosters and fly a lot more than they used to before COVID. December seems to be very special because of many staff calling in sick and flights being full and very few being available for standby.
In January there should be a meeting of a new trade union (???; not sure if I got it right) and that meeting should open a new chapter in the discussion between the union and LH management on the conditions of work. Let’s see if this means another round of strikes
