Based on my recent experiences there, since you don't want to you cash, I would say get the Grab or Bolt apps. They are cheaper and you don't have to use cash. With Bolt, you can look at about 300 bht, especially that late at night. Grab has more availability, but Bolt tends to be cheaper.
I am unsure why other posters mentioned cash only. Perhaps they haven't used these other ridesharing apps lately, I am guessing.
On my last trip to Bangkok years ago, I wasn't even able to get a driver via Grab. I'm assuming drivers were busy and I ended up walking almost 3km back to the hotel.
