From what I understand BA Bronze members are supposed to get free preferred seats at booking and MCE at check in. For some reason though, AA is trying to charge me $32 to select a preferred seat on MOB-CLT and $20 to select one on CLT-JAX. My BA account is attached to the reservation. I used to be a status holder with AS and never had this issue, and I remember booking an AA flight the same day I got AS status back in May 2021 and had no issues getting the right seats. Does it take awhile for BA status to reflect on AA's end or what's going on here?
Remove your BAEC number from the AA PNR, and re-enter it in a day or two. If you are still not offered complimentary Preferred seats at that time, then call AA and explain the problem.
