First time here with 3 nights here right before Christmas weekend to get some skiing in on what snow existed. Got forest view suite as globalist (from basic room). Forest view basically is no view.

Breakfast @ Cascades I would consider kind of bad 2/3 days. First day hot food was coldish, omelet choices were a weird ingredient combo that was not tasty at all (and way to oily). Second day had way overcooked bacon, omelet still way too oily. Third day had the vacation crowd start showing up and the food was much better, probably due to fast turnover. Omelet actually came out excellent this time. So very inconsistent there. The pastries and waffles/pancakes were consistently good at least. On another note, ate one night at the Six Peaks restaurant. Was basically OK, though not worth the price - chicken was tasty but not $40, and I've done better ribeye myself.

Thing that I was completely unaware of - pools are heated and are open in the winter. Not so sure about the open air walk from the rooms to the pool in winter though.

As for the snow - bottom of mountain is pretty bad right now - one green and two blues at Alpine. Though Palisades has the tram and funtinel and the blues/greens up at the top of the mountain open, as well as Mountain Run to the bottom + Red Dog / Resort chairs for ski-in/out. Note that currently ski-out is rather fraught since the only way down to the base area from Resort Chair is a fairly icy black.

Wife was here to learn through Palisade's perfect progression program which is based out of Alpine. There is no direct shuttle transportation to Alpine. Everline shuttle goes to Palisade only, and Palisades on-demand Mountaineer service does not go in-between the two valleys until after 5PM, and otherwise wants you to take the base to base shuttle or the gondola. So need to drive to Alpine if you end up needing to start your day there.
