I've also just found Chase's insurance easier to deal with than Amex.
What does that mean exactly (“easier to deal with”) and is it worth the loss in earnings?
I’ve made 2 travel delay claims with AIG/Amex Plat, both had some type of unusual circumstance. First one was reimbursed no questions asked - I provided robust documentation. The second one involved a little back and forth in terms of supporting documentation (I send the hotel folio receipt, but they *also* wanted my Amex statement??) and a disagreement over whether an avalanche should be considered "weather" as a covered reason. Took a few extra emails and a little longer but I got there. I'm not sure if one could guarantee a "smoother" experience with Chase.
Happy to hear about, say, Chase having higher reimbursement limits or more covered reasons for delay or cancelation, but i don't put a lot of value on the subjective "easier to deal with".
