At the end I booked UA's ZRH-IAD-FLL, despite it is 80K miles, plus IAD-FLL in coach - for the same reason, UA miles are very easy to get thru UR. The tax is only 1/2 of MUC, ($64 vs $139 on AS, incl the $12.5 fee) more than enough for a nice scenic train ride Munich Hbf to Zurich HB, with the second last stop at ZRH. There are Hyatts near the ZRH airport versus the only option at MUC is Hilton everything else is in town 30+min train away. ZRH is much closer to city.
