SAS tickets with US domestic connections (UA,DL,AS,AA...) Master Thread
I truly apologize if this has already been answered ad nauseum and/or if this needs to be posted in a different forum.
I'm trying to find out what is the most time/cost efficient way to obtain an open jaw from my home airport for a cruise from Oslo to Stockholm. I knew, even starting out that there aren't that many non-stop flights to these airports from the US, but I noticed that SAS has a few. However, when I go to Google Flights or United, I am getting a feeling that not all of the available SAS flights are showing. I read that, at least 10 years ago, SAS was not "playing well" with United reservation system. Is this still the case? I also know that SAS is in the process of switching to SkyTeam. Our cruise is in the summer of 2025 (I was just looking at the 2024 itineraries/prices to get some idea about the possible price ranges from different US airports to decide whether to drive to ORD/CVG or just fly out of IND) so I'm assuming that SAS will have some schedule changes (to align itself with SkyTeam airlines) in the works, but I have no idea how quickly these things happen.
Any advice on what to expect and if there is a better way to find an itinerary that I can actually purchase with SAS flights. When I search on SAS website, I found no flights out of IND going to OSL or coming back from ARN, which is probably because the system is not able to find United/Delta flights that flies between IND and SAS US gateway airports.
Or is it just a bad idea to try to combine SAS with US airlines in an itinerary at this point?
