If you are looking at KLM Light fares, they do not include seat selection just like DL Basic Economy. Definitely no mileage earn on either DL or KL metal when purchased as a DL E fare with DL marketing codes on both DL and KL flights.
The KLM light fare was allowing me to select seats on DL metal within the US FOR FREE. It was charging me to select seat on its own metal. I was wondering if the same might be applicable in reverse if I choose DL Basic Economy.
