I flew BA in J about 2 months ago and found the food to be very enjoyable in both directions, plus it was very good on the small hop up to Scotland. The only thing I didn't like about the food service was I couldn't reserve my meal in advance.
I'll buck the trend too and admit that I've never really had an issue with the food. Obviously I'd feel differently if I was at a fancy restaurant paying a lot for the meal but when I'm sitting at 35k feet flying across a ocean while watching a movie my expectations are tempered by reality.
