It's Vegas, there are literally thousands upon thousands upon thousands of hotel rooms.... 80K fans for a football game isn't going to make a dent in demand.
I think this is the one weekend where it actually will be a sold out city.
It's not just the attendees, it's tons of people going to be there for the weekend, like me. This isn't like the F1 thing that fizzled, it's the super bowl. But
just in case, I am booking this night only as a flexible rate.
Cost is essentially not a factor, which is why I'm fine paying $500-800 for a room that I literally wouldn't even accept, for free, to put other people in (let alone myself). It's super bowl weekend. And this room we're talking about is just for a night. I am just trying to pick the best of bad options. Hyatt Guaranteed Availability was my first thought and was no help.
But the HP Silverton is a great idea -- there is a minimum length of stay, but I am going to try booking it Feb 1 for 10 nights (it comes in at $366.52++/night, $414 total) -- and I'm going to see if Twitter etc will chop off the first 9 nights. Unlikely but totally worth a try!
EDITED TO ADD: sadly (but utterly understandably) I see only fully prepaid rates. No changes, no cancel.
